Cardioid Condenser Microphone
Designed as a sonic upgrade to the microphones built in to laptops and portable recorders, the MCE 494 is a miniature cardioid condenser mic with a 3.5mm audio jack.
The condenser capsule is a back-electret type. The mic is powered via the microphone jack on the host recorder or laptop.
Applications include speech recognition, interviewing, conference recording, etc.

The mic was released in 2002.
