Studio Projects
Studio Projects is a division of PMI Audio Group. The company sells a small line of condenser microphone designs, sorted into three series: B, C, and CS. The B microphones are inexpensive entry-level designs. The C series incorporate additional features and improved specifications. The CS series are the company’s premium models.
The first generation of Studio Projects microphones was cobranded by the manufacturer, 797 Audio in China. These models were redesigned in 2006 to incorporate new features and improved specifications; the new mic bodies no longer bear the 797 Audio logo.
SP microphones are sorted into sensitivity ranges, owing to the variance within the assembly process:
- -35dB +/-1dB,is marked by a green dot on the packaging
- -36–-37dB,is marked by a black dot on the packaging
- -33–-34dB,is marked by a red dot on the packaging
The dots are intended to assist buyers with matching individual microphones into pairs.
The company’s latest design is the LSM or Little Square Mic, which is intended to deliver professional-quality audio at a consumer-electronics price point.
