Sennheiser Electronics Corporation e 945
Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone
The e945 is a handheld supercardioid dynamic microphone for live performance use.
The mic features an all-metal body, consistent tone on and off-axis, and shockmounted moving-coil capsule with Neodymium rare-earth magnets for higher output. The capsule has a hum compensating coil to reduce EMI/RFI.
The mic’s published frequency response chart shows an upper-mid and high frequency presence boost, +5dB from 3kHz–6kHz with a secondary, sharper peak at 10kHz. Note that if the measurement distance for this graph was 1m (which is the de facto standard), the mic’s actual performance in stage vocal applications would be significantly warmer, with a fuller low end than is indicated by the graph, due to proximity effect.
The polar chart shows a rough Supercardioid pickup pattern, with the ±120° nulls fading at lower frequencies, and the pattern narrowing at high frequencies.
The e 945 is similar to the e 845, with slightly more sensitivity and different frequency response due to the different capsule design.
The Sennheiser Electronics Corporation e 945 is also known as: evolution 945, e945.
