Samson CS Series
Detachable-Capsule Dynamic Microphone
The Samson CS (“Capsule Select”) Series Microphone is a modular dynamic microphone with two capsule heads:
CS1 (Vocals)
The CS1 Capsule is designed for vocal use.
Its frequency plot shows a slight low boost in the 150Hz area, a broad presence peak centered at 6kHz with a narrow peak at 8kHz. The high end drops quickly above 10kHz.
CS2 (Instruments)
The CS2 Capsule is designed for instrument miking applications.
Its frequency response is similar to the CS1, but somewhat flatter. Its low rolloff below 100Hz is less steep, and upper-mid to high response is less exaggerated.
Both capsules are supercardioid neodymium elements with steel cages and internal shockmounting.
Like Samson’s other dynamic mics, the CS Mic features a rugged, zinc-alloy die-cast enclosure and gold-plated XLR connector.
Mixdown Magazine - 2012
The design is very simple and sleek. The capsules and protective cages unscrew effortlessly allowing you to change them around in a matter of moments and increasing the versatility of one microphone dramatcally.
The mic ships with both capsules, body, and stand mount in padded zippered case.
The Samson CS Series is also known as: CS-MIC.
The mic was released in 2012.
