MK-102 Microphone Sets

CardioidOktava MK-102

Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The Oktava MK-102 combines the MK-012 head amplifier with the MK-102 large diaphragm detachable capsule head.

The mic’s small profile and end-facing design eliminate body reflections. The capsule uses a 27.5mm, 5-micron diaphragm. (Capsule diameter is presumably ~34mm.)

A detachable, inline -10dB pad module is included; when needed, it can be mounted between the capsule head and microphone body.

Oktava

The MK-102 offers a smooth and extended frequency response with clean and accurate top end free from the harsh, excessively bright sound found in many modern microphones.

Studio Auditions - 2008
The MK-102 captured the true character of the guitar and brought out the mellow tones that I wanted to hear without sounding too thick or muddy. After adding a few other instrument and vocal tracks to the songs we recorded, the tracks recorded with the MK-102 were all sitting perfectly in the mix and did not require much EQing, just a little rolloff of the lows.

Owners of the MK-012 or MC-012 can purchase the MK-102 capsule head, a la carte, or the entire MK-102 microphone, which includes the MK-012 head amp, inline -10dB pad, MK-102 capsule head, and a metal mic clip, packed into a wooden storage case.

The Oktava MK-102 is also known as: MK102.

The mic was released in 2005.
