Miktek PM11
Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone
The Miktek PM11 is a supercardioid dynamic microphone engineered for use on the kick drum. It uses a custom-tuned moving-coil cartridge with neodymium magnets, combined with an output transformer from AMI.
Unlike most dedicated kick-drum microphones, the PM11 will not produce an exaggerated “scoop” EQ curve; its design goal is to have a more natural sound.
The mic has an integrated swivel mount to facilitate positioning. The diecast body and steel grille are designed to stand up to the physical demands of stage applications.
According to product literature, the use of an acoustic labyrinth behind the cartridge help to increase rear rejection and gain-before-feedback.
The PM11 was part of our Massive Kick Drum Mic Review by Eric Beam.
The PM11 is sold singly, and bundled with three PM10 snare/tom microphones as the PMD4 drum mic kit.
