Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone
The Miktek PM10 is one of a pair of supercardioid dynamic microphones designed for use on drum kit and percussion. Both are end-address designs with integrated stand mounts.
The PM10 is voiced for toms, snare, conga and percussion instruments. According to product literature, the use of an acoustic labyrinth increases the amount of rear rejection, reducing bleed from nearby instruments as well as feedback from onstage monitors.
Like the PM11, the PM10 combines a custom-designed moving-coil cartridge with an output transformer from AMI, with final mic assembly being done in Nashville.
The mic’s grille is made of steel mesh. The body is made of diecast metal.
Neodymium magnets within the moving-coil cartridge produce higher sensitivity and increased high-frequency response as compared to non-rare-earth magnets.
The PM10 includes an integrated stand mount as well as a detachable rim clamp for drum kit mounting. The mic is available individually and within the 4-piece PMD4 set — which includes three PM10 and one PM11 kick drum microphone.
