X/Y Stereo Condenser Stereo Microphone

MXL’s V67Q is a stereo small-diaphragm FET condenser.

The mic has two of the MXL 603’s cardioid capsules mounted in a 90°, XY-stereo configuration. The 603 capsule is a well-regarded copy of the Neumann KM-84 capsule.

The V67Q has a transformerless output stage, like the 603S (and 604), but the rest of the amplifier circuit is a custom design for this stereo mic. Specifically, the V67Q circuit is not a copy of the Schoeps circuit from which the MXL 603/604 circuit is derived.

The V67Q ships with a 10' Mogami stereo XLR cable (5-pin XLRF to two 3-pin XLRM) and a hard mount (p/n MXL MT-001). MXL’s compatible shockmount (p/n MXL-57), is available separately.

The mic was released in 2007.
