MXL Genesis FET
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The Genesis FET is a cardioid condenser microphone promoted as providing the “characteristic Genesis sound but with the convenience of solid state electronics.”
The mic’s capsule, as is true of its namesake, is a 32mm K67 type.
The published self-noise figure of 13dBA is 5dBA lower than the figure for the Genesis tube microphone.
As of this writing, the PDF “cutsheet” states that the mic has a bass roll-off. Neither the owner’s manual nor the MXL website mention this, so we suspect it is a misprint in the cutsheet.
The Genesis FET ships with a wooden storage case (for the mic only), an elastic shockmount, and a metal mesh pop filter.

The mic was released in 2013.
