Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The Lewitt LCT 450 is an all-purpose large-diaphragm microphone with a fixed Cardioid polar pattern.
The mic sits in the middle price- and feature-range of Lewitt’s LCT Recording line and has some of the characteristics of those microphones. For instance, the LCT 450 has the same capsule and frequency response as the LCT 550 and 440 PURE. It has the same clipping history feature as the 550, the 640, 640TS, and others, and it ships with the same flat-front shock mount as most of the LCT line. Also like others in the LCT line, the mic’s PCB employs surface-mount components.
The LCT 450 does not have some features of its more expensive sister microphones, such as the 940’s tube circuit, the 640TS’ dual outputs, or the 550’s extremely low noise, but it does have more features than the stripped-down 440 PURE which lacks the clip history feature, and the 240, which has a smaller capsule.
The microphone has push buttons for an 80Hz low cut, a -20db pad, and Lewitt’s clipping history feature. The clipping history - which tells the user if the mic has clipped since he or she last checked - can be accessed by holding the left pushbutton for two seconds.
The LCT450 is sold in a cardboard box along with a foam windscreen, Lewitt’s LCT40SH shock mount, and a mic bag.
