Lawson Inc L251FET
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The L251FET is large diaphragm FET condenser using Lawson’s L251 capsule head and solid-state head amplifier. Lawson’s FET body is considerably smaller and lighter than their tube body designs.
The main differences between the L251 and L251FET are:
- the L251FET has a phantom powered solid-state amplifier circuit, whereas the L251 is a tube mic with external power supply
- L251FET has a fixed Cardioid polar pattern
- the L251FET is smaller and lighter
The L251FET is fixed-cardioid, but its capsule head is capable of multipattern (continuously-variable) operation when connected to a tube body such as the L47MP MKII.
All Lawson mics feature a detachable, interchangeable “Quick Change” capsule head. The L251, L47, and AIR capsule can be used with either tube or FET bodies.
The Lawson Inc L251FET is also known as: L251-FET.
