Lauten Audio
Lauten Audio was founded by Brian Loudenslager with the mission of creating an innovative new line of high-end microphones. The design goal is not to reproduce historical or vintage models or sounds, nor to pursue sonic transparency, but rather to imbue the recorded sound with a unique “artistic character.” The company designs its microphones in-house using parts sourced from around the world — including custom-designed capsules, transformers, even windscreens, and conducts extensive listening tests during the design and testing processes. Final assembly and testing takes place in the US.
The company produces a small line of microphones, including a SDC, a FET LDC, and two tube LDCs. Additional FET microphones are in the works.
