Kel Audio HM-1x
Wide Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The HM-1x is a revised edition of the company’s HM1; both are inexpensive side-address small-diaphragm FET condenser microphones with a nearly flat frequency response.
According to Kel, the capsule assembly and basic circuit design in the new mic are the same; the improvements in the new mic include:
- Component upgrades such as “big high-grade WIMA capacitors all over the PC board, as well as an ultra smooth styroflex cap between the capsule and FET.”
- Mechanical upgrades (not specified).
- Improved shockmount
The new model’s price has been raised, from $149 for the HM1 (2009) to $279 for the HM-1x (2011).
The mic ships with a shockmount and a swivel mount, and includes both a 1-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
The Kel Audio HM-1x is also known as: HM1x.
The mic was released in 2011.
