Joemeek
Founded by ex-Joe Meek session singer Ted Fletcher in 1993, the Joemeek company initially sold Fletcher’s outboard compressors, such as the Joemeek SC2. Fletcher became disillusioned with the industry’s trend toward “equipment built to a price,” and sold the name to its US distributor, PMI Audio Group, in early 2003.
PMI subsequently (2004 NAMM) relaunched the small line of “Meekrophones,” beginning with the JM27 and JM47, both transformer-balanced FET mics.
