Golden Age Project D2
Cardioid Dynamic Microphone
The GAP D2 is a large dynamic mic with a cardioid polar pattern.
The body design is like a hybrid of EV RE-20 and Shure SM7B. A U-stand mount is attached.
Although no frequency response graph has been publihsed, the manufacturer states that the mic has a presence peak centered at 5kHz. Its 2.5mV/Pa output is a little higher than other comparable large dynamics.
The internal windscreen reduces the need for an external pop filter.
The three switches allows the user to adjust the frequency response. Two low frequency rolloffs (120 and 210Hz) can be used simultaneously to tame proximity effect, and a mid filter flattens the 5kHz presence peak.
