DPA d:facto
Supercardioid Condenser Microphone
DPA d:facto is a handheld pre-polarized handheld condenser for live vocal use. d:facto launched at Prolight + Sound 2012, and is scheduled to begin shipping in May 2012.
The mic uses a 19mm electret capsule.
Like most electret condensers, the d:facto has relatively high self-noise of 19–21dBA. At its intended working distance, on moderate to loud sources including vocals, this noise floor is unlikely to be problematic.
Although the mic’s frequency response and polar graphs have not been published as of this writing, DPA describes the mic’s response thusly:
DPA
90 Hz - 16 kHz with 3 dB soft boost at 12 kHz. Permanent 3rd order low-cut filter (-3 dB at 80 Hz)
Permalink: DPA d:facto
The mic was released in 2012.
