CAD Audio TSM411
Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone
The TSM411 is a compact supercardioid dynamic, conceived for use in miking percussive instrumentation. The capsule is decoupled from the mic body via “polymer floatation,” which presumably means some sort of rubber grommet.
The magnet within the moving coil is Neodymium, much like EV’s better-known N/DYM series of mics.
The tight pickup pattern, variously described as supercardioid (by the maker) or hypercardioid (by SoundOnSound) helps isolate on-axis from off-axis sounds, which is useful in reducing bleed from adjacent toms/amps/etc.
The TSM411 is sold as part of CAD’s drum packs, namely the DMTP4, DMTP7, PMP43, PMP54, PMP632C, and PMP742C.

The mic was released in 2004.
