Cardioid Dynamic Microphone

The enCORE 100i is an inexpensive stage dynamic microphone intended for instrument reproduction. It is the fourth mic in BLUE’s “enCORE” series.

The 100i’s moving-coil cartridge is similar to that of the enCORE 100 and 200, but optimized for instrument rather than vocal usage.

BLUE

The enCORE 100i is built around Blue’s proprietary studio-grade dynamic capsule, the same technology used in the enCORE 100 dynamic vocal microphone, but is created with a wider and flatter frequency response to capture a variety of instrumental sounds and a tighter polar pattern to reduce off-axis noise. The enCORE 100i houses a custom-designed diaphragm and coil windings that are matched to a tuned acoustic circuit and custom-built transformer for low noise and smooth transients. These purposefully coordinated components provide an accurate and consistent sound even at high volume levels on stage.

BLUE

The enCORE 100i capsule utilizes a custom-designed diaphragm and coil windings [that are] different than [the] enCORE 100 and 200 capsules.

The capsule is mated to a passive high-pass filter and an output transformer. The 100i is the only mic in BLUE’s enCORE series to use an output transformer.

As with the rest of the enCORE series, the 100i was built to withstand stage use and abuse, with a hardened grille, heavy-gauge body, and reinforcement ring around the headbasket.

The 100i ships with a “soft grip” clip and a lined, Velcro-sealed canvas storage pouch.

The mic was released in 2010.
