The Blue Bottle Rocket Stage One is a transformerless FET head amplifier built in the bottle-mic style. It provides a low-noise, neutral amplifier for many interchangeable capsules — from Blue’s “Bottle Caps,” the B0-B8 capsules formerly known as the Red R0-R8, as well as compatible bayonet-mount capsules from Violet, Flea, and Neumann.
The mic was developed by Blue and marketed by Red, aka Vintage Microphones, as the Red Mic Type B, but reintroduced by Blue (and rebadged as the Stage One) following the closure of the Red product line in 2008.

I was a little shocked to find out how affordable these mics are. I assumed that both Bottle Rocket kits would be about double their prices. The Stage One set costs about as much as buying a B8 capsule and shockmount separately, making the microphone body basically free.
