Blue Microphones Hummingbird
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The Hummingbird is Blue’s first “pencil” mic, and is remarkable for the inclusion of a feature pioneered on the Dragonfly and Mouse microphones: a swiveling capsule. The Hummingbird’s capsule head can be rotated 180°, significantly facilitating placement.
The circuit is described as Class A and discrete, and is believed to be transformerless. The capsule is a small-diapragm model based on Blue’s B1 interchangeable capsule.
Hummingbird was announced in 2013, and is scheduled to ship in Q1-2015. A prototype was displayed at Winter NAMM, January 2015.
The mic ships with a plastic case, mic clip, and foam windscreen.
