Cardioid Dynamic Microphone

The Audix FireBall is a compact handheld dynamic mic designed for harmonica and beatbox. Like Audix’ D-series mics, it uses Audix’ VLM (Very Low Mass) moving-coil cartridge.

The published frequency-response graph shows a rolled-off low end below 100Hz, and a +5dB presence boost from 2kHz to 15kHz. According to Audix, this measurement was taken at 2 inches, which is the intended working distance for the microphone.

The mic body is made of aluminum, with a unique 3-stage marble anodized finish. The grille is made of steel mesh.

For use with guitar amplifiers, the T50k Impedance matching transformer is recommended.

Cliff Castle, Audix USA

The original FireBall design began as a modified vocal microphone, but with input from some of the most well-respected and successful harmonica players today, the Fireball evolved into a stunning example of a product where form follows function.

The mic was released in 2005.
