Audio-Technica ATM610a
Hypercardioid Dynamic Microphone
ATM610a is an updated version of Audio-Technica’s ATM610. Both are hypercardioid stage vocal microphones made with Neodymium magnets.
The ATM610a features an upgraded capsule shockmount and a multi-stage windscreen.
The differences between the ATM610 and ATM610a include:
- The 610a has an improved internal shockmount, which reduces handling noise
- The 610a is 10g lighter
- The 610a has 3dB better rejection at 180° (although the polar patterns are otherwise nearly identical).
- The frequency response differs slightly; the 610a is flat from 100–300Hz, whereas the ATM610 had a small boost in this region.
A variation on ATM610a, the ATM610a/S features a lockable MagnaLock on/off switch design providing silent on/off operation.
The Audio-Technica ATM610a is also known as: ATM-610A, ATM-610a/S, ATM-610.
The mic was released in 2012.
