X/Y StereoAudio-Technica AT825

X/Y Stereo Condenser Stereo Microphone

The AT825 is a stereo FET condenser microphone designed primarily for field use — DAT, camera mount, etc.

The mic has two miniature electret condenser capsules mounted at 110° for XY-stereo recording.

The mic has a 5-pin XLRM jack, and ships with a 5m Y-cable (XLR5F to two XLR3M).

It can be powered via phantom power (5–52V) or via a single AA battery.

Includes AT8405a stand clamp for 5/8''-27 threaded stands; battery; AT8120 windscreen; soft protective pouch.

Electronic Musician, 2003

The AT825 was a consistently good performer, typically producing a well-balanced and seemingly preequalized sound. The mic tends to highlight certain defining frequencies in the lows, high mids, and highs while downplaying typically troublesome low mids.
