Bidirectional Ribbon Microphone
The Apex 250 is a bidirectional ribbon microphone.
Its ribbon element is described both as a “traditional large element” and “low tension,” but no length specification is given. It is made of 2 micron aluminum.
Apex recommends storing the microphone upright, to prevent imposing unneeded tension on the ribbon element.
The mic ships with an aluminum case and IMC-10 shockmount.
