ART Pro Audio M-Two
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
ART’s M-Two is a more versatile version of the company’s M-One. Both are fixed-cardioid FET condensers. To the basic M-One design, the M-Two adds a two-position pad and a two-position high-pass filter.
The pad can cut 6 or 12dB from the mic’s signal, effectively raising the max SPL to 147dB.
The HPF cuts an aggressive 12dB/octave at either 100Hz or 200Hz.
The pad and HPF can be disabled; both are wired to 3-way switches.
Like the M-One, the M-Two is built into a zinc and aluminum body, with a grille screen made of steel wire. Both have an LED beneath the capsule to indicate when phantom power is present.
The cardioid capsule is a 32mm design, presumably single-diaphragm and center-terminated. The active diaphragm diameter is likely 27-28mm.
No frequency-response charts have been made available.
The mic ships with an elastic “cradle” shockmount in a padded aluminum flight case.
The M-Two is manufactured in China, according to the mic’s spec sheet. It was introduced at Winter NAMM, 2009.
