Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The C 518 is a miniature electret condenser designed for clip-mounting on drums, percussion, and brass. Two versions are available:

• C 518 M - includes 3m XLR cable with integrated high-pass filter
• C 518 ML - includes 1.5m XLR cable, plus A400 adapter for PT40/PT400 bodypack transmitters

As is often the case with miniature electrets, the self-noise on this mic is relatively high at 31dBA. Whether this is audible depends on the volume of the source instrument.

The mic assembly (for both models) includes a rim clamp and short gooseneck, which facilitate positioning on a drum rim.
