AKG Acoustics BBB DFive
Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone
The AKG BBB DFive is a Supercardioid dynamic microphone intended for vocal applications, especially beatboxing. It is the official microphone for BeatBox Battle international competitions.
The DFive is essentially the same as AKG’s popular D 5 dynamic, with an “optimized internal windscreen that prevents wind noise even in lip-contact use without altering the microphone’s finely accurate high-frequency response.”
The published frequency-response and polar graphs for the DFive are identical to the D5.
It ships in a cardboard tube with a padded “transport case,” and a user manual with beatboxing information inside.
The AKG Acoustics BBB DFive is also known as: BBBD5, Beatbox battle.
The mic was released in 2011.
