Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone

The Frankfurt 49-T is the newest mic in ADK’s “T-Fet” series, and the second with a K47-style capsule. Like all the T-Fet mics, it has a 3-way pattern switch and British output transformer. Unlike the other T-Fets, this particular mic had not been sold in a fixed Cardioid edition.

The 49-T uses the GK49 capsule from ADK’s 3-Zigma product line. The GK49 is the darker of ADK’s two K47-style capsules.

The mic’s circuit is made with high-quality parts, including Wima capacitors, a premium JFET from Phillips/Norelco, and an Oxford/OEP output transformer. The same components can be found in all five T-Fet models.

Three switches located below the headbasket allow for multiple configuration options:

A 3-way switch on the front of the microphone allows selection of Cardioid, Omni, or Figure-8 polar patterns.

On the rear of the mic, the first of two 3-position switches allows selection of two high-pass filters: -6dB/octave at either 100Hz or 160Hz.

A second 3-way switch controls the input pad: 0dB, -8dB, or -16dB.
