Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone

The Berlin 47-T is a multipattern FET condenser with a large-diaphragm K47-type capsule and a transformer-coupled output. It was introduced in 2013 as part of ADK’s “T-Fet” series of “tripolar” multipattern mics.

ADK/3-Zigma GK47 capsuleThe 47 Au uses the GK47 capsule from ADK’s 3-Zigma product line; this is a clone of the Neumann K47 capsule, voiced to sound like current production K47 capsules.

The circuit is made with high-quality parts, including Wima capacitors, a premium JFET from Phillips/Norelco, and an Oxford/OEP output transformer.

Three switches located below the headbasket allow for multiple configuration options:

A 3-way switch on the front of the microphone allows selection of Cardioid, Omni, or Figure-8 polar patterns.

On the rear of the mic, the first of two 3-position switches allows selection of two high-pass filters: -6dB/octave at either 100Hz or 160Hz.

A second 3-way switch controls the input pad: 0dB, -8dB, or -16dB.

The mic was released in 2013.
