ADK Berlin 47 Au
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The Berlin 47 Au is a Cardioid FET condenser with a large-diaphragm capsule and transformer-coupled output. It was introduced around 2009 as part of ADK’s “Custom Shop” series; it was replaced in 2013 with the release of the T-Fet series of multipattern mics.
The 47 Au uses the GK47 capsule from ADK’s 3-Zigma product line; this is a clone of the Neumann K47 capsule, voiced to sound like current production K47 capsules.
The circuit is made with high-quality parts, including Wima capacitors, a premium JFET, and an Oxford/OEP output transformer.
Two switches located below the headbasket allow for multiple configuration options:
On the rear of the mic, the first of two 3-position switch allows selection of two high-pass filters: -6dB/octave at either 100Hz or 160Hz.
A second 3-way switch controls the input pad: 0dB, -8dB, or -16dB.
The body is engraved with the “ADK Custom Shop” logo and the model name of the mic.

The mic was released in 2009.
